FAQ's

What should I do to prepare from my free session?

Come to our introductory session with a desire to be heard. Come prepared to tell me your story in brief and the struggles you are facing. Please don't feel pressure that you have to have it all figured out before we chat. We can do that together. Come with questions about me you may have. We will together decide if I am the right fit for helping you and how many sessions to book.

What is the difference between individual sessions and group sessions?

Individual sessions are one on one meetings with me. We will work through your story, your options and you will decide what direction we need to talk about. I will share with you teaching that fits with your story and your needs.

Group sessions will begin with teaching on the subject matter that everyone can learn from. Everyone will have a chance to share but your time to share will be limited. Questions and answers will help everyone.  Relationships can be built within the group, especially in the accompanying facebook group.

Do you offer group sessions or classes?

Yes! There are group sessions available upon request. Contact me and let me know what you are interested in and we can arrange it.  Each group session have a limit of ten people and last six sessions. There will be a time of teaching, then a time of sharing, questions and answers and reflecting. One group is designed for those who are grieving, especially those who feel stuck in grief. The other group is for those deconstructing their faith and wanting to learn how to deal with grief, the effect on others and how to handle the question of what now? Groups will be offered ongoing support in a facebook group.

How are you different from a therapist or counsellor?

I am not a therapist or counsellor. If I feel you need therapy or counselling, I will gently recommend that you find therapy and offer you help on finding someone. What they do that I can't is looking deeply into trauma and mental health issues, diagnose different issues and give you help in healing those wounds and coping with life. The coaching I do helps you see your life from different perspectives and helps you identify your options and make choices that will lead to greater peace.

What religions does the faith deconstruction cover?

I come from an evangelical Christian background. That is the area I have studied most and am nost familiar with, I am willing to talk about any faith system and always willing to learn more. I am respectful of all faiths and it is never my intent to talk you out of a faith or convince you that you need to change your beliefs. I am here to help you understand what is happening within you as you explore deconstruction or question your beliefs.

For the grief coaching, do you talk about faith?

We do discuss faith as it is a big part of how we cope and how we understand grief. I am respectful of all faiths and it is never my intent to talk you out of your faith or convince you that you need to change your beliefs.

Is it possible to receive this teaching, but not in a group or one on one format?

There will be self-led, self-timed online courses coming in the future but these are not yet available. Message me and let me know you are waiting and I will be sure to let you know when they are ready.
